Sew-Along #5 - Naomi Dress - Meet Your Instructor

The Naomi Dress by Modkid

My name is Sarah and I am a wife, a mother to two gorgeous girls and a sewing and craft enthusiast. By day I am an Industrial Hygienist serving in the Uniformed Services; but in my off-time, I am a crafting, sewing and make-it-myself maniac!

I have always been interested in crafts and do-it-yourself projects, but my interest in sewing didn't take off until I landed a job at a local fabric store during college.  Looking at all of the fabric and talking to the customers about the things they were making motivated me to learn how to make items myself. So I enrolled in an introductory sewing class as one of my electives, and the obsession began!

Having two daughters is the perfect excuse to sew and craft; I have sewn everything from my daughters' crib and bedroom ensembles to my sister's wedding dress. Luckily my girls still enjoy wearing the creations I come up with and act as (somewhat unwilling) models for my various projects. Though I am certainly not an expert, I figure what I lack in technique, I make up for with heart and enthusiasm! I am so excited for the opportunity to develop this sew-along and look forward to getting to know you all!

Note: Sew-Along #5, the Naomi dress, begins July 10th.  If you would like to join us and need to purchase a pattern or a fabric kit you can do that here.
